The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship is the premier sports car racing series in North America, renowned for its multi-class format and grueling endurance events like the Rolex 24 At Daytona and the Twelve Hours of Sebring. The championship features four distinct classes: the top-tier Grand Touring Prototype (GTP), which utilizes high-tech hybrid prototypes; the Le Mans Prototype 2 (LMP2) class for privateer-based prototypes; and two production-based classes, GTD PRO (professional factory-backed efforts) and GTD (Pro-Am entries), both of which utilize GT3-specification machinery.
