The Asian Le Mans Series (ALMS) is the premier endurance racing championship in the Asia-Pacific region, designed by the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO) to bring the "Spirit of Le Mans" to Asian soil. Operating on a winter schedule to avoid conflicts with European series, the championship features intense multi-class racing across iconic circuits like Sepang, Dubai, and Yas Marina. The series is currently split into three primary classes: the top-tier LMP2 (featuring high-performance prototypes), the entry-level LMP3 prototype class, and a production-based GT category exclusively for GT3-spec cars. A core tenet of the series is its "Pro-Am" philosophy, mandating at least one Bronze-rated driver per entry to foster amateur talent alongside professionals. Like its European counterpart, the ALMS serves as a critical qualifying path for the global stage, with class champions earning highly prized automatic invitations to the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Starting in the 2026-27 season, the series is set to expand further with the introduction of a privateer-focused Hypercar class.
